I felt very sentimental on the last day of shooting, thinking, “Oh, I’ve got to say goodbye to him again.” He’s fucking hard work, always has been, but I love him, and I got sad that I wasn’t going to see him again for a while. (x)
Someone must have pointed this out already but I noticed it and needed to share with y’all.
In Many Happy Returns, Anderson and Lestrade are sitting next to each other wearing THESE EXTREMELY TELLING OUTFITS with a MIRROR besides them, when Anderson goes
“He’s out there, he’s hiding. But he can’t stop himself from getting involved. It’s so obviously him, if you know how to spot the signs.”
Now my point is that Anderson mirrors what John must have been like right after the Fall. And Lestrade had always been by his (John) side, being the brainand trying to make him accept reality. That’s why Greg was so sceptical about his state of mind when he went to see John afterwards. He knew how he had been like before so he knew the man was not okay, even if he had gotten a bit better with no more conspiracy theories and all. He was never going to be okay as far as he knew.
The thing with the quote though is: who knows Sherlock well enough to say something like that? Certainly not Anderson. John, on the other hand, had said so himself in TRF:
“I (John) know you (Sherlock) for real. No one could pretend being such an annoying dick all the time.”
When everyoneelse doubted him, John was the one who never lost his faith in Sherlock, beacuse he knew how to spot the signs. For him it was just obvious. He also knew very well that whatever Sherlock was doing out there, he couldn’t have stopped getting involved. After all, that’s what he does isn’t it? Risks his life to prove he is clever.
